The official currency of Vietnam is the Vietnamese dong (VND). As of today, the exchange rate is approximately 23,000 VND to 1 USD. While the country primarily uses its local currency, international credit and debit cards are accepted in many hotels, restaurants, and shops in urban and tourist areas. However, note that American Express is less commonly accepted. Currency exchange services are widely available and typically operate from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays.
