Costa Rica is in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone and does not observe daylight saving time. Mobile network operators in Costa Rica include ICE, Claro, and Movistar. The quality of mobile network coverage is generally good in most urban areas, but may vary in rural areas.

The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican colón (CRC). As of March 2023, the exchange rate of CRC to USD is approximately 1 USD to 625 CRC. Most transactions in Costa Rica are conducted in CRC, but some businesses may accept USD or Euro. Payment by bank cards is common, but some cards may not be accepted. Currency exchange offices are usually open during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.
